This week I researched riprap slope for flood protection. Riprap is designed to withstand the test of time, due to its hard waring properties, as the product is a quality granite rock which makes it highly resistant to water erosion. Riprap is a flood defence that helps with large bodies of water as well as being a mediator between rivers and tidal lagoons. Riprap is very flexible, it can be combined into many different shapes and sizes to meet the requirement of the location. It has very high strong permeabilities and it can be manufactured into different sizes for it's purpose. Most upstream slopes or enbankments relatively need some sort of protection. Riprap is a protection that is highly resistant to water and can help with causing less damage to more expensive flood equipment.
