During this week, I was finalising my masterplan as I needed to make tweeks here and there. I received feedback from the tutors who gave me some good advice on how I could improve. One point was to focus on understanding the sites history and character more, rather than focusing on bats as there may also be other aspects that I could be missing out on.
We also talked about what inspired this project. I mentioned my inspiration came from a site visit when I saw bats flying around the area, I came across an abandoned structure which could have potentially been their home.
I took the time to gather information on the lifecycle and ecology of bats to help me understand their way of life and also understand how my placement of vegetations could help them to live a better and sustainable life.
The vision and theme behind this project was to follow the natural landflow of the site by keeping its heritage and identity.
